STUV equips six prisons in Eswatini with new detention room locks
by Andreas Laudy
STUV has replaced old Chubb® 4L55 and 4L65 detention room locks in six prisons in Eswatini with the modern HSL C175 retrofit model.
These new locks are characterised by their advanced technology, which is tailored to the special security requirements of the prison system.
The HSL C175 is the same size and hole pattern as Chubb's® previous locks, making it easy and cost-effective to replace. However, the new locks are much more technologically advanced: they are recodeable and can be changed to a new locking system in just five seconds if the key is lost. This feature significantly enhances security and provides a flexible solution for dealing with lost keys in prison operations.
The upgrade to the HSL C175 model marks an important step in the modernisation of security standards in Eswatini's prisons and underlines STUV's commitment to advanced security technologies in international prisons.
STUV is implementing similar projects in other countries to improve security in prisons worldwide.
