HSL 175
Mechanical deadbolt
slam action cell lock
Slam action deadbolt lock with single key turn (180°). In the standard corridor side locking version, the lock has a mechanical bolt position indicator on the key guide side.
Functional description
Unlocking is achieved by a partial turn of the key which lifts the internal blocking mechanism, enabling the withdrawal of the main bolt by handle or knob. The bolt is then retained automatically when fully retracted and the door is out of frame.
Locking is achieved automatically; on closure of the door the auxiliary latch is depressed on contact with the strike plate mounted to the frame. This action releases the main bolt.
Deadlocking occurs when the main bolt is fully extended allowing the internal blocking mechanism to engage.
Re-coding the lock
The locking mechanism can be re-coded to a different locking when it is unlocked (bolt retracted). This requires a key of the current locking and a key of the future locking.
Features
Slam action deadbolt lock with single key turn (180°). In the standard corridor side locking version, the lock has a mechanical bolt position indicator on the key guide side.
Application areas
The type HSL 175 is designed for detention room doors. The bolt is locked back via a tour (180° key turn). The key can be removed in locked and unlocked state.

Options
The following equipment options are available for lock type HSL 175:
- S1 | Main Locking Mechanism: Lockable on one side
- S2 | Main Locking Mechanism: Lockable on both sides
- DR | DIN direction: right hand
- DL | DIN direction: left hand
- DB | DIN direction: right and left
- SK | Special forend: angular
- MK | Magnet in latch: front side
- ZS | Positive locking (key can only be removed when door is locked)
- AS | Removal barrier
- PS | Production lock (dummy lock without tumbler lock mechanism)
- RI | Bolt position indicator: one-sided inverse
S1 | Main Locking Mechanism: Lockable on one side
The key guide of the main locking mechanism is located on one side of the lock. This equipment is used e.g. for detention room locks.
Configurable options
- Lockable on one side
- Lockable on both sides
S2 | Main Locking Mechanism: Lockable on both sides
The key guide of the main locking mechanism is located on both sides of the lock. This equipment is used e.g. for passage doors.
Configurable options
- Lockable on one side
- Lockable on both sides
DR | DIN direction: right hand
If the hinges are on the right side of the door, it is the "DIN right" door opening.
Configurable options
- DIN direction: right
- DIN direction: left
DL | DIN direction: left hand
If the hinges are on the left side of the door, it is the "DIN left" door opening.
Configurable options
- DIN direction: right
- DIN direction: left
DB | DIN direction: right and left
Bolt locks that close on both sides can be used for both DIN right and DIN left doors. A specification when ordering is not required here. This applies e.g. to lock types HSL 101 and HSL 301 with feature S2.
SK | Special forend: angular
The forend is square at both ends and not round.
Configurable options
- Standard forend: round
- Special forend: angular
- Special forend: extra wide
- Special forend: extra long
MK | Magnet in latch: front side
With a reed contact (provided by the customer) in the frame, this feature enables the electronic evaluation of the locking status of the door (signal: bolt locked and door in frame). The two magnets are visible on the front side of the bolt.
Configurable options
- Bolt without magnet
- Bolt with bar magnet
- Latchbolt with magnet
ZS | Positive locking (key can only be removed when door is locked)
The key cannot be removed when the lock is open. The operator is forced to pre-lock the locking element in order to remove the key from the lock. Passage doors with latch bolt or deadbolt latch with this equipment option only have to be pulled closed after passage. Locking then takes place automatically. The user only has to operate the lock on one side. A considerable time saving.
Configurable options
- Standard: without positive closing
AS | Removal barrier
The removal barrier prevents unauthorised removal of the lock when the door is open. The lock can only be removed when the locking elements are locked. Ergo, the double-bit key is absolutely necessary.
PS | Production lock (dummy lock without tumbler lock mechanism)
Dummy lock available for door production without security features. The production lock will be charged. After a faultless return (inspection by STUV Prison Solutions), the amount minus shipping costs will be refunded or charged.
RI | Bolt position indicator: one-sided inverse
With the "inverse" equipment option, the indicator is in the opposite direction to the standard, i.e. when the bolt is closed, the indicator is retracted. Tightening torque of the locking status indicator: Ma= 6 Nm
For locks used without bolt position indicator, there is no drilling in the door leaf.
Configurable options
- Bolt position indicator one-sided
- Bolt position indicator on both sides
- Bolt position indicator one-sided inverse
- Bolt position indicator on both sides inverse
