Functional description
The BUS line control unit serves as an interface between the STUV door control server (TS 801) and the respective RS-485 BUS participant (lock, I/O module, etc.). The line control unit BUS is directly connected to the database of the door control server and reads out the corresponding commands via TCP/IP protocol, which are then passed on to the devices via RS-485 BUS protocol. The status of the units is written back to the database.
Up to 10 units (participants) can be monitored and controlled per line. Depending on the version, the BUS line control unit can connect up to 4 RS-485 lines.
The maximum RS-485 range is 500 metres and can be extended to max. 1,500 metres by means of a line BUS repeater (TZ 851). The use of a line BUS repeater is also recommended for smaller ranges for the purpose of galvanic isolation and protection of the line control unit BUS from interference signals or voltage peaks (e.g. lightning strike).
